You just landed in Kahului and you are hungry after your long flight over the Pacific. An easy first stop that is sure to please everyone’s cravings is the food trucks by Costco. My personal fave is Thai Me Up, you will also find Mediterranean, poke, empanadas, burgers and more. If you find yourself in Paia Cafe de Amis has a cute outdoor area you can sit and dine in. They offer delicious vegetarian options as well as a happy hour from 4-6pm with my favorite lilikoi margarita on the island. On your way down from a Haleakala sunset, Kula Bistro is where you want to stop. Their menu is full of seafood options but how they really steal the show is their dessert bar. Who doesn’t want an ice cream sandwich the size of your face? If you have plans to stroll Front Street one night make reservations at Star Noodle. You can choose between an array of shareable plates while watching the sunset over the ocean. You are in Hawaii so you have to try some poke at some point. You would be surprised where you can find the best poke bowls. If you are in Kihei and are making an alcohol run, head to Tamuras not just for the great selection but also their delicious poke bar.
